Notice the change

Most patients arrive at WMG Meds because they've noticed something. A widening parting. A receding hairline. More hair in the shower than there used to be. The instinct is often to wait and see if it stops. It usually doesn't.

Hair loss is almost always treatable, and almost always more treatable the earlier it's caught. Once a follicle has miniaturised completely, the window for medication-led treatment closes. The point of this page is to show you what happens between you noticing and the treatment working.

  • Early intervention is the single biggest factor in long-term outcome
  • Most patients see meaningful response within six months of starting treatment
  • Waiting another year is the most common regret patients tell us about

Your first step

Send a short enquiry

Two minutes, six fields. Tell us your name, how to reach you, and roughly what you're experiencing. You don't need to know which plan suits you, or what medication you should be on. That's what clinical review is for.

We reply within two hours during clinic hours (Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat-Sun 9am-6pm). The reply confirms whether your case has been accepted, asks any follow-up questions the clinician needs, and confirms the prescription plan.

  • Two-hour reply window during clinic hours (Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat-Sun 9am-6pm)
  • No commitment at this point. You're scoping, not signing up
  • If you'd rather speak first, call us on 020 3239 3378

You meet your doctor

The clinical review

This is the part that separates WMG Meds from the questionnaire-and-go-pay services. Your case is reviewed by a named GMC-registered doctor working under Westminster Medical Group. They check it against your declared history, query anything missing, and make a documented prescribing decision.

The doctor takes a full history, looks at the pattern of your hair loss, asks about anything you've already tried, checks for contraindications with medications you take, and discusses whether bloodwork would help. By the end you'll have a clear picture of what's going on and what your treatment options are.

  • Reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor working under Westminster Medical Group, 134 Harley Street
  • Bloodwork via WMG Healthcare added where it would change the plan
  • Honest discussion of side effects and realistic outcomes

You get your plan

Personalised treatment, not a package

Based on the clinical review, your clinician builds a plan tailored to your situation. That might be the Essentials regimen (first-line topical and/or oral medication for someone starting their journey), the Advanced plan (combination therapy with quarterly reviews for established or progressing loss), or the Pre & Post Transplant Care plan if surgery is on the horizon.

Whichever plan, the medications inside it are evidence-based and properly prescribed. The plan adapts as you respond, rather than being a fixed package you outgrow.

  • Three plan tiers, with the right one chosen at clinical review
  • Pricing confirmed before anything is dispensed
  • Plan can be stepped up or stepped down at any clinical review

You get your treatment

Medication dispensed and delivered

Once your prescription is approved, your medication is dispensed and delivered directly to you in plain, discreet packaging. Your card statement shows only "Westminster Medical Group".

Dispensing happens under documented clinical supervision and only after the GMC-registered doctor has signed off your prescription.

  • Delivered to your door, no in-person pickup required
  • Plain packaging, no medication info on the outside
  • Card statement shows "Westminster Medical Group" only

Treatment is the start

Ongoing clinical care

Hair takes time to respond and individual results vary. Every plan includes scheduled clinical reviews so we can adjust based on how you actually respond, swap medications if needed, or refer for further investigation if results plateau.

You also have direct access to your clinician between reviews. If something changes (new medication, new condition, side effect), tell us. The plan adapts.

  • Quarterly clinical reviews built into every plan
  • Direct line to your clinician between reviews
  • Plan adjustments, dose changes, or referrals as your response dictates

What to expect

The rough cadence, week by week, month by month

Hair doesn't change overnight. Here's what the first year actually looks like for most patients.

  1. Day 1

Begin your assessment. Reply within two hours during clinic hours.

  2. Days 1 to 5

Clinical review. Plan agreed. Bloodwork ordered if needed.

  3. Days 5 to 7

    Medication dispensed. Treatment starts.

  4. Weeks 2 to 6

Settling-in phase. An initial increase in shedding is common in the first few weeks of starting minoxidil and can also occur with finasteride (per the Regaine 5% SmPC and BAD patient leaflet, this typically begins 2 to 6 weeks after starting and settles within a couple of weeks as new hairs replace shed ones). If shedding persists beyond about two weeks, contact us.

  5. Month 3

First clinical review. Most patients see stabilisation of further loss.

  6. Month 6

Six-month clinical review. Some patients see early regrowth; for many, optimal results are not visible until nine to twelve months. Plan adjusted based on response.

  7. Year 1+

Ongoing maintenance with regular reviews. Long-term clinical relationship.

Don't put it off another six months.

The single biggest predictor of how well treatment works is how early you start it. Take the first step today.
