Questions we get from North West patients

Possibly, but not quickly. Dutasteride suppresses DHT far more deeply and has a terminal half-life of around five weeks, so both starting and stopping play out over months. It is also off-label for hair loss in the UK. Worth doing with a clinician who will review you rather than simply issue it.
I am already on treatment from another provider. Will you review me?
Yes. Bring what you are taking, at what dose, for how long, and what you have noticed. A second opinion on dose is one of the most common reasons people come to us, and we would rather adjust something that is nearly right than restart you from scratch.
How quickly would I know whether a change had worked?
Hair cycles slowly. Expect to judge a change at three to six months, not weeks, and we schedule reviews accordingly. Anyone promising a faster answer is selling you something.
